Who demutualised old mutual pension and insurance funds and why did they do it using what authority we are coming for you
The May issue of Monocle magazine hit the newsstands today, perfect timing in this CHOGM week. And Zimbabwe is on the cover with the tag: “Zimbabwe’s moment of hope”. Yeah baby!
The Monocle team was really fair and did a balanced story. The focus is on SB Moyo but fear not. There is no need at all to start flinging accusations of eating with the zhunda bla bla, please note that Chamisa is also featured, as is Trevor Ncube who opens the piece and comedian Tongai Makawa. There is also a nice side feature from Monocle staff writer Georgina Godwin on why she left Zim, and her hopes for Zimbabwe.
Victor Chimhutu asked Charlton Tsodzo to decode this photo and here is what Tsodzo had to say:
eish this one is tricky Doc Victor Chimhutu….the president is clearly holding his breath…like he is on the inhale, mentally biting his lip or barely holding it together…he knows what he wants to say or how to react to Pari but can’t seem to be able to fully express himself…his straight face betrays lack of confidence…meanwhile…Pari is exasperated…while he seems to have his body in the direction of the superior he is meant to be accounting to…there is the guy in the centre…whose facial muscles show sternness and a sense of being obstinate …his finger pointing seems to signify stubborn insistence saying ‘my way or the highway’…Chiwenga has his eyes towards ED as if to give a gentle reminder of something i don’t know what that is…Chiwenga is also leaning into a conversation he doesn’t quite seem invited into… ED and Pari seem to want to talk but there is a noise/interference factor coming from the third party and they are both uncomfortable about it…if anything they look exasperated…That’s what I read just from the body language of the men Doc…I could be a little biased…robonga
